The Somerset C-Card is a totally free service offering condoms, dams, lube and sexual health information. It is available to all young people aged from 13 - 19, and in some cases up to 25, in Somerset.
How to join the C-Card scheme
Getting a C-Card is easy, free and confidential.
There are two ways to join, depending on your age.
Option 1: Register in person
Visit a C-Card registration point.
You will have a short, private chat with a trained professional. They will talk with you about:
- Sexual health and relationships
- How to use condoms properly
- They will then register you on the C-Card system. You will also be offered the option to upgrade to C-Card+ where you will have your own login to myccard.co.uk and be able to order condoms and pick those up at one of our Click and Collect sites. Click here to find a registration point
You can also TEXT ChatHealth on 07480 635 516 and ask to be registered for the C-Card
Option 2: Register online (16+)
If you are over 16 and have a Somerset College email address, you can sign up online.
All you need to do is:
- Complete a short questionnaire
- Watch a quick video on how to use condoms
Once you are registered, you will get:
- Your own login to myccard.co.uk
- A Virtual C-Card
- Access to Click and Collect so you can order condoms online. You can also use your Virtual C-Card if you want to visit an issue point in person.
Collecting condoms
Once you have your C-Card, either physical or virtual, you can:
- Show it at any issue point to collect condoms, show your C-Card and request the condoms you want
- Or log in and order using the Click and Collect
- If you order before noon, your condoms should be ready to collect the same afternoon. You will get a text or email, whichever you prefer, to let you know they are ready.
